February, 2010
Is everyone as ready for Spring as we are? This winter (thus far) has been pretty productive, with a complete remodel/fresh coat of
paint at the daycare, lots of hikes with the terriers, a complete Go Play! and RavenWolf website overhaul, and plenty of trips down to
Rhode Island to see the
PUPPIES!
Not much other news, I have to admit. We had a hunting trip planned for January with Michelle Ward, but were forced to cancel due
to the unsafe ground conditions. Michelle had been out with a large group and found it very difficult to dig due to the amount of
frozen ground. Not a safe situation for the terriers, so we had to postpone. Guess we'll have to wait to hunt again until the
summer.......DRAT! Well, there's always puppy pictures to cheer us up! ENJOY!
March, 2010
Well, this month turned out quite differently than I thought it would. We were very excited to celebrate our Gillian's 12th birthday on St
Patrick's Day, and instead helped her cross over the Rainbow Bridge on March 4th instead. Gillian became very ill suddenly, and it
was a blessing that she remained happy and energetic until just a few days before her death. It is such a difficult thing to lose a
terrier, especially Gilly, who was our first Jack Russell.. She will be sadly missed, but we know she's in a better place now -
running on the big beach in the sky, and playing with all her friends who have passed before her.
On a happier note, we are anxious for the Trial Season to start - just another month until the fun begins!
Simon x Shamrock
puppies are getting BIG and are just gorgeous! Check out some new photos below!

We are still not over the loss of our Gillian......but while we miss her every day, the sad memories of her passing slowly become
happy memories of her life. Like the time I had her off-leash in the woods and she ran down to swim in the river, and stumbled
upon a duck sitting on her nest.....I was terrified for the babies, and of course, Gilly would NOT come back to me - not when there
were ducks to chase! The mother duck took off down the river and Gilly swam in full pursuit. She actually was so focused on the
duck that she missed seeing the beaver who swam right by her. She exhausted herself swimming and finally came back to me.
And the ducks? No worse for the wear, but super angry about the incident!
We went to the Northgate Tune-up, the first trial for us and had a BLAST! It was freezing cold, semi-rainy, and raw....the dogs were
cold, we were cold, but that didn't stop us from having a great time!
Our dogs showed well for themselves, Simon won his Barn Hunt Class, Raccoon Suitability Class, and was reserve champ in lure
coursing & barn hunt! He did well in open, earning a 4th place spot in some tough competition. Calypso did great - taking 2nd
place in suitability to red fox, 4th place in open, and had a blast running the lure!
Simon x Shamrock puppies did AWESOME! In a HUGE 4-6 month puppy division, they showed very well for themselves. Storm
WON his class both days (and yes, had other smooth boys to compete against!) and Raven took 2nd in her class! All in all, a very
fun weekend. Here is a cute pic of Shamrock and the three puppies sunning themselves......

Yankee Trial 2010 come and gone, and a great time was had by all. Our dogs did very well - Calypso was 2nd in conformation,
suitability, Yankee Member-Owned Bitch, etc. She showed very well for herself, and we are quite proud! This was a tough show!
Simon was 2nd in Raccoon suitability, and 3rd in conformation.
The most fun, however, was showing Simon's puppies in conformation - Perfect Storm was PUPPY CHAMPION on Saturday!
Raven did awesome and was 2nd in her very difficult class, and we are quite proud.
Perfect Storm is pictured below on the left, and Raven is pictured below on the right. GORGEOUS pups!

Wow - this summer is FLYING! We have moved into a adorable little house - complete with a fenced-in yard (finally!) for our JRT's!
They are enjoying themselves immensely - and keeping busy hunting snakes, moths, and dragonflies!!
Not many trials for us this year - but the ones we've attended we've done well and had FUN!
We went to Liberty Bell a few weeks ago and took Simon's daughter, Ocean State Raven. She did really well, placing 2nd over a
tough group of 6-9 month pups - and she was just 6 months old!
Simon & Calypso won their suitability classes, and did well in large groups of conformation! Here is a pic of Raven (on the left) with
her father (who looks just like her!) on the right!
